Devanahalli Fort is one of the rare forts in Karnataka to be built on flat ground. Because of this very structural weakness it has seen many rulers since the 1500’s. Today this heritage site lies in ruins from neglect and apathy of the government and in danger of being over-run by the local residents.

On a breezy Friday morning, I head out to Bhoga Nandishwara, a 1200 year old temple in the outer reaches of Bangalore. Commenced by Queen Ratnavali of the Banas in around 810 CE, it is still an active temple with a number of ceremonies including marriages held at its premises every year.
Bannerghatta hills is a small hillock that is pretty easy to hike and hosts a lovely temple at its peak. Amid its natural surrounding and beautiful sunlight, I am going to try to get some practice for my photography.
Talacauvery, the birthplace of the sacred river Cauvery, is located 44 km from Madikeri, on the slopes of Brahmagiri Hill. Besides being a pilgrimage center, Talacauvery is known for its natural beauty.
Bylakuppe is a peaceful Tibetan refugee settlement on the outskirts of Coorg. The Namdroling Monastery adorned with colorful paintings depicting gods and demons from Tibetan Buddhist mythology also hosts a lovely 60 foot gigantic gold-plated statue of Buddha.
Today I visit one of the oldest gardens in Karnataka. It is a sight to behold with its rich flora. But beneath all the beauty it also harbors a rich heritage which began with the inception of the city itself, when Kempe Gowda installed a tower here, marking it as the southern limits of Bangalore city.
My first jungle safari. It had its moments when I was elated like when I saw a tiger less than a feet away from me and angry when I saw the elephants tied to chains in what was supposed to be a wildlife safari.
